Final Project: Befriend Campaign

Design Problem: Navigating friendship as a young adult.


Loneliness was reported to be the highest among young adults between the ages of 16 and 24 in the U.K. Surveys
conducted in developed countries such as New Zealand, Japan, and the U.S. show that young people are far more
lonely than older people, which is commonly assumed.


I created an app as my leading solution is to connect a person to people in their area who share common interests,
thus creating the possibility of friendship. Since proximity and mutual interest are the building blocks for creating friendships.


The campaign stems around the concept of feeling out of place, and the app offers a space where all kinds of people can belong.


My solution gives people the power to be in control of their own social life and to choose who they want to befriend.
The app and campaign breaks the stigma around admitting that a person may want and need more friends. And that wanting more connections is entirely normal..
